TrekSta USA Edict GTX Trail Running Shoe

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night, stay the trail runner from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

When it comes to trail running, many of today’s ardent practitioners live to run.  But to make your runs a success, you will need a partner that excels in any condition or climate.  With technical features such as the NestFit system, a Hydrogrip outsole and Gore-tex Extended Comfort technology, the Edict GTX by TrekSta USA is designed to tackle almost anything Mother Nature brings so you can tackle your trails.

On Design and Performance…
The cornerstone of the Edict GTX is the NestFit system. NestFit uses the scans of 20,000 different feet to ensure that the upper, insole, midsole, and outsole of every shoe follows the natural flow and design of the foot. From the first fitting to countless hours on the trail, the Edict GTX offered up both our male and female run gurus a flawless fit, without any hotspots or problem areas.

Designed to protect your feet from rock-strewn, root covered technical trails, the EVA midsole and insole combined with a TPU rock plate for stability offers just the right amount of cushioning without added weight. Not only does the Edict GTX excel at providing cushioning and comfort on the trail, but coupled with the NestFit design, our run gurus found themselves wearing these trail master’s long after their runs were complete.

Rambling down rugged technical descents with the speed of a mountain biker is no problem for TrekSta’s Hydrogrip outsole. Exclusive to TrekSta, the Hydrogrip outsole offers sticky traction on wet and dry surfaces alike, while being durable enough to hold up in rough conditions. Add to that lugs underfoot that provide just the right amount of grip without accumulating excessive amounts of mud, this trail shoe lets you feel confident tackling slippery and sketchy terrain alike.

If there is one thing that will keep you from your appointed miles on the trail, it’s the thought of running countless miles in soggy, cold shoes. Whether you are out on an early morning 25 degree run, or splashing through cold mountain streams, the Edict’s Gore Tex membrane keeps your feet dry and warm so you can revel in your love of the trail, even in challenging conditions.

The Critique …
Fleet of foot, and able to traverse muddy rock strewn technical trails in a single bound, the Edict GTX has the durability and protection that a die hard trail runner needs. Our field testers who run in minimalist-type trail and road shoes had similar observations about the need to take some time to transition to the feel and performance of the Edict GTX. Although the arch support and underfoot heel cushioning of  Edict GTX will be appreciated by most runners who have not been encumbered by the feel of minimalist running shoes,  those runners used to wearing minimalist shoes may find these same qualities increase the tendency to heel strike while the stability features relative to minimalist shoes may dampen the feel for the road.

Bottom Line …
The TrekSta Edict GTX is a comfortable, stable, protective trail runner that offers a virtually custom fit for all runners.  If you are a minimalist runner looking to add slightly more substance with a natural fit to your winter running collection, then the Treksta Edict GTX won’t let you down.
