L.L. Bean designed the Men’s TriZone Pant for maximum mobility and breathability during quick alpine scrambles, multi-day treks, and just about every other high-energy, high-aerobic outdoor pursuit you can put your mind, and body too.
On Performance and Design…
The secret to the TrioZone pants is L.L. Bean’s utilization of three American-made Polartec® fabrics – WindPro, PowerStretch and PowerDry – to deliver the optimal combination of warmth, wind protection, stretch and breathability.
The innovative blend of of high-performance Polartec fabrics provide a barrier from the wind and cold during your high-octane hikes, runs, or climbs. Meanwhile, the generous fabric stretch along with breathable Power Stretch® inserts at the knee and ankle offer enhanced mobility. There’s no doubt that the TrioZone provides the most unrestricted range of motion we’ve ever experienced in a pant, and that’s a factor that matters when you’re out pushing your limits.
Another feature our team loves about the TrioZone? It’s made by L.L. Bean; one of America’s legendary outdoor brands. That means you can rest easy knowing there’s no compromise on quality or detail when it comes to construction and performance. An outside zipper on each leg allows for easy changing. Reflective details help keep you safe in low light conditions should you decide to get in an early morning run. And a grippy inner trim at the hem cuffs keep these pants out of the way so you can spot every foot placement.
Notes from the field…
In addition to the massive range of motion offered by the TrioZone, where this pant has exceeded our expectations is in its durability. Admittedly we expected a pant composed of Polartec fabrics to get eaten alive by a life on the trail. From rough granite walls to manzanita laden trails, there’s no shortage of ways to prick, snag and shred a good pair of pants. Yet, with the exception of a few minor abrasions at the hem of the pant leg, the TrioZone continues to prove that these pants are more than capable of withstanding the abuse of alpine life.
We have experienced a few days on the trail when the thermostat unexpectedly made its way north, and the result was a slight clammy sensation on the interior of the pant. But thanks to a high breathability factor, the TrioZone never left us in discomfort or feeling overheated. Most of the time the Polartec fabrics combine to create an interior micro-climate that helps keep you comfortable and confident in the field. That being said, the TrioZone is clearly best suited for outdoor pursuits in cooler weather.
Bottom Line…
The TrioZone pant puts the power of Polartec® fabrics on your side making this pant a stellar partner for all of your Alpine adventures.
