DSC_0627 For all the excitement and mystery of travel, packing for a trip can be a tedious task. Your safe sanctuary of clothing storage can quickly become a romper room of chaos and mayhem. Enter the Eagle Creek Systems Go Duffel Pack; strategic compartmentalization for a life of adventure.

On Performance and Design…

The innovative minds at Eagle Creek designed the 35L and 60L Go Duffel Pack as a versatile carry system allowing this bag to be shouldered like a backpack or a duffel. But the true beauty comes in the form of Pack-It System compatibility which means you can stack five Pack-It cubes (sold separately) in the main compartment for a completely organized pack. DSC_0539

We all know it’s a scientific fact that those who disapprove of disparate foods mingling on their plate, also loathe the inappropriate touching of socks, shorts and sweaters during travel time. So really the  Systems Go Duffel is nothing short of a modern scientific marvel. But even for those who shun science, you can readily accept that the Pack-It cubes partnered with the Systems Go Duffel offers a perfect solution for optimizing the way you pack. Simply pack em’, stack em’ and hit the road.

But the Systems Go Duffel Pack is more than just a pretty bag that accommodates any travel OCD tendencies. Bi-Tech fabric keeps the bag both highly water-resistant and weatherproof, while making it remarkably easy to clean after long trips abroad.

Padded Air Mesh covers the back panel and removable shoulder straps make wearing this pack remarkably comfortable, whether you’re weaving through the chaos in LAX Terminal One, or hiking 20 blocks to save on bus fare.

Multiple compression straps, handles, and reflective accents add to the convenience factor, and because sometimes not even the five Pack-It cubes are enough, there’s plenty of lash points to tack on extra gear. The 60L version offers an adjustable torso and a lockable zippered bottom compartment with an internal zippered divider to create two packing spaces.

Long Term Update…

We all know that travel takes its toll on luggage, but international travel offers a particular case study in the level of stress and torture a particular piece of gear can endure. Since we originally posted this review in April of 2014, we’ve added a few more stamps to the passport, which we felt necessitated a quick update on the performance of the Systems Go Duffel Pack.

From trekking to Machu Picchu in Peru, to a trip south of the border in Cancun and an adventure across the pond to Europe, this Duffel Pack has been tossed, stuffed, smashed, rained on, and generally abused. It has endured the harsh treatment of uncaring airport baggage handlers, been crammed in the tiny trunk of foreign taxi-cabs and endured an array of climates from a humid hurricane infested Mexico, to a cold damp trek through Europe.

Through it all, the Systems Go Pack has proven to be incredibly durable, resilient and comfortable. We’ve also gained an even greater appreciation for its true backpack styled fit which puts it miles ahead of the traditional travel duffels when it comes to versatility and ease of portability.

Bottom Line…
Adventure should take place on the road, not in your luggage.  So whether you suffer from a slight case of OCD, or simply prefer a little more organization to your own personal universe, the Systems Go Duffel Pack ensures travel life runs a little more smoothly.
