And since you’re not a fan of breaking personal vows, you’ll need to ensure that your gear stash is up to meet the challenge of long miles and an ever rising mercury. Enter the CoolRunner™ Short Sleeve T from Mountain Hardwear.
On Performance and Design…
Days of wrestling the winter’s polar vortex are now a distant memory. Here in the heart of California’s Central Valley, the daily forecast is now a daily trend-line of scorching heat and record setting temperatures. So when the Mountain Hardwear CoolRunner Short Sleeve T through arrived on our doorstep, we were eager to put it through the paces.
This trim-fit running shirt isn’t your run of the mill 5-K tech shirt: it packs quite the technical prowess. Designed by Mountain Hardwear’s elite runners (and available in a long sleeve and tank version), the CoolRunner T synergizes two of Mountain Hardwear’s best technologies: Wick.Q™ EVAP to keep you dry, and Cool.Q™ ZERO to actively cool you down while your internal engines are running on high.
Incoporated on the sides of the shirt is Wick.Q™ EVAP. A network of tiny channels that disperses moisture more efficiently, the Wick.Q EVAP technology improves evaporation, helping to further keep you cool and dry. But for those that push their limits under the summer sun, you know that effective evaporation is only step one in creating a higher level of comfort.
The true Mountain Hardwear magic comes into play with the Cool.Q ZERO technology. Little blue circles position an active cooling agent next to your skin that reacts with your sweat to lower the temperature of the fabric and accelerate wicking, creating an instant and prolonged cooling effect. By implementing this technology on both the front and the back of the shirt, you can run on in cool comfort.
Finally, Mountain Hardwear utilizes their MicroClimate Zoning, an engineered mesh knit construction to further lower the temperature and helps keep the breeze flowing as you pound out the miles on a hot July and August days. Add in a touch of sun protection (UPF 25) gives the added confidence to keep pushing for a few more miles without worrying about skin damage from harmful UV rays.
Bottom Line…
Hit the trail running in the Mountain Hardwear CoolRunner Short Sleeve T, and power up the trail while enjoying moisture-wicking and cooling performance that’s up to your speed.
