Made from ‘PVC-free 600D polyurethane-coated polyester and clear urethane’ the E–Case® line of cases are tough as the day is long while offering fully submersible waterproof protection. The completely transparent polyurethane window is soft enough to let you view and use the touch screen without removing the device (ie exposing it to the elements). So whether you’re reading your kindle in the hammock, on a run through the rain, or taking pictures while snorkeling, you’ve got uninhibited access to your electronics.
Each case has a SealLock zipper that seals tight and provides impressive protection from the elements. From long days at the beach in Cancun, to extended hikes in the Sierra, and more than a few dunk sessions in alpine lakes, the E-Case kept our devices 100% protected from water intrusion. And unlike other protective cases we’ve tested, the E-Series cases exceeded our expectations when it came to resisting the typical scraps and bruises of outdoor life.
Corner lash points allow you to secure your case to a bag, belt, kayak or wherever may be convenient for you. Moreover, the PVC-free 600D polyurethane-coated polyester and clear urethane materials not only protect your electronics, but offer a beautifully tactile nature so the case feels secure in the hand even when the elements are less than certain.
Notes from the Field…
True, they don’t offer the shock-proof/drop-proof protection of some protective cases on the market. But then again, not all of those “other cases” offer this level of waterproof protection making the E-Case, in the opinion of our editors, a better choice for outdoor enthusiasts.
While the urethane window allows full touch access to your device, it does slightly reduce the sensitivity of your touch screen. At times, navigating seemed to require a bit more pressure than usual, and occasionally light taps didn’t quite register. While that can be frustrating when attempting to quickly capture a picture, or access a particular function, it didn’t detract from our overall experience with the line of cases.
Bottom Line…
Mother Nature can be a fickle mistress, and even when she’s on her best behavior, your adventurous spirit will lead your electronic devices to patches of earth for which they weren’t designed. The E-Case line of cases offer a safe haven for your electronic gadgets.
